) -- Los Angeles police arrested four demonstrators Monday after the deadline passed for the Occupy Los Angeles protesters to leave their encampment near City Hall.

The group was given a deadline of 12:01 a.m. Monday by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to clear out of the area which it had occupied for almost two months. Hundreds rushed to the site around midnight,

said. By 2:30 a.m., several had moved but police came in around 5 a.m. declaring an unlawful assembly. Protestors subsequently threw water bottles at the police and taunted them.

Occupy Philadelphia protesters were give a Sunday deadline to clear out of their area. That deadline passed without any arrests.

The Occupy Wall Street movement -- which has gone global -- is

about two months old.
