Ford said Wednesday it would implement the Microsoft Hohm energy management application, which helps owners determine when to most affordably recharge their electric and plug-in hybrid cars.
Ford is the first automaker to use Hohm, an Internet-based service.
Ford's Focus Electric will use the Hohm service next year while two next-generation hybrids will use it in 2012.
