The company said that 260,390 Focus cars will be recalled due to problems with the rear hub retaining nut, which can come loose and cause the wheel and brake drum assembly to separate. In addition, 33,225 Focus cars will be recalled because of cruise control cable issues.

Ford is notifying a total of 351,102 Focus owners to have their vehicle upgraded to meet the new U.S Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for interior head impact protection, which is applicable to vehicles in the U.S. market.

The company said there have been no reports of accidents because of the problems.
