The Dearborn, Mich., automaker said Hamp "played an instrumental leadership role during the last year." The position of chief of staff is being eliminated.
Hamp, 58, has been a key adviser for Chairman Bill Ford, focusing on the coordination and management of the office of chairman and CEO, alignment of the senior management team, and coordination of the corporate strategic dialogue and integration of strategy into company operations.
"It has been both a privilege and a rewarding experience to have played the role that I have during such a critical time," Hamp said. "We have accomplished what we set out to do when I arrived and I leave the company confident in the talented leadership team and optimistic for the future."
