Real estate data and analysis provider
said its subsidiary First American Real Estate Information Services has acquired Harvard Design and Mapping Company, a provider of Geographic Information Systems technology, for an undisclosed amount.
The company said the acquisition would strengthen its ability to use GIS technology solutions to help its clients effectively handle their flood risk and data management needs. GIS technology includes computer platforms that are capable of assembling, storing, manipulating and displaying geographically referenced information.
Harvard Design's founders, chief technology officer and senior vice president will remain with the company, First American said. The acquisition closed March 1.
