Facebook (FB) - Get Report announced on Thursday that it is readying to launch a test that will be aimed at supporting news subscription models for its Instant Articles in partnership with several publishers across the U.S. and Europe.

This initial test will roll out on Android devices and it hopes to expand the service soon.

Facebook announced the following partners will join in the integral rollout of the tool: Bild, The Boston Globe, The Economist, Hearst (The Houston Chronicle and The San Francisco Chronicle), La Repubblica, Le Parisien, Spiegel, The Telegraph, tronc (The Baltimore Sun, The Los Angeles Times, and The San Diego Union-Tribune), and The Washington Post.

The social media giant stated that it would support a paywall in Instant Articles. Readers who reach the paywall will be prompted to subscribe for full access, in a transaction on the specific publisher's site.

Shares of Facebook were lower nearly 1% in afternoon trading on Thursday.
