Tesla (TSLA - Get Report) CEO Elon Musk paid $25 million to buy 102,880 shares of Tesla on May 2 at an average price of $243 a share, according to a Securities and Exchange commission filing, boosting his stake to nearly 20%.
Musk wasn't the only Tesla insider to take an active role with his shares over the past month.
Chief Technical Officer Jeffrey B Straubel sold 15,000 shares of Tesla on April 26 at an average price of $239.08 and director Antonio J. Gracias sold 16,780 shares on April 10 at an average price of $275.92.
Tesla shares closed Monday's session at $255.34. The stock was down 2% to $250.10 Tuesday.
Last week, the electric vehicle maker also submitted a series of filings with the SEC indicating its intentions to raise as much as $2 billion in cash, with $650 million coming in the form of new equity and $1.35 billion in convertible notes.
