said it earned $13.6 million, or 26 cents a share, for the third quarter ended Feb. 28, up from $5.8 million, or 12 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue for the third quarter increased 54% to $135.2 million from the same quarter last year. Analysts were expecting 28 cents a share on revenue of $136 million, according to Thomson First Call. The stock was down $4, or 17.5%, to $19 in after hours trading.

Veritas

( VTS) announced preliminary financial results for the second quarter ended Jan. 31. The company said it earned $16.9 million, or 49 cents a share, on revenue of $192.2 million. Analysts were expecting 41 cents on $175 million revenue, according to Thomson First Call. The company said strong results reflected increased exploration activity driven by robust market conditions and reserves replacement concerns. The stock was up $1.86, or 7.25%, to 27.55 in after hours trading.

AngioDynamics

(ANGO) - Get AngioDynamics, Inc. Report

said that it earned $1.1 million, or 9 cents a share, for the third quarter ended Feb. 26, up 59% from $683,000, or 7 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue for the third quarter was $15.5 million. Analysts were looking for 8 cents a share, on revenue of $15 million, according to Thomson First Call. The stock was up 55 cents, or 2.9%, to $19.10 after the close.

( MERX) beat expectations by earning $393,000, or 2 cents a share, for the third quarter ended Feb. 26, compared with $3.2 million, or 19 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue for the quarter was $50 million. According to Thomson First Call, analysts were looking for a loss of 7 cents a share on revenue of $47 million. Looking toward the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005, the company expects sales to come in flat to up 3% compared to the third quarter and for net income to be between 4 cents and 5 cents a share, excluding items. Analysts had been forecasting a loss of 1 cent a share in the quarter.

Landec Corp

(LNDC) - Get Landec Corporation Report

said that it earned $2.3 million, or 9 cents a share, for the third quarter ended February 27, 2005, versus income of $725,000, or 3 cents a share, from a year ago. Total revenues for the quarter were $51.5 million. The company cited strong sales in its value-added specialty packaging vegetable products. Analysts were looking for 9 cents a share, according to Thomson First Call. The stock was up 29 cents, or 4%, to $7.41 in the aftermarket.

Crown Castle

(CCI) - Get Crown Castle International Corp Report

reported a loss of $88 million, or 44 cents a share, for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2004, compared to a loss of $162.2 million, or 79 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue for the fourth quarter was $157.8 million. Analysts were expecting a loss of 16 cents a share, according to Thomson First Call. The stock was down 10 cents, or 0.6%, to $15.60 after the close.
