Wal-Mart (WMT) - Get Report confirmed it will sponsor the 1970s rock group the Eagles.

The Bentonville, Ark., retail giant said the deal amounts to an "exciting long-term strategic marketing agreement that will encompass sponsorship, exclusive audio and video releases, and product visibility." Terms weren't disclosed, but the pact also "will create significant additional holiday interest at Wal-Mart."

The Eagles, according to a postclose press release, were attracted to a Wal-Mart partnership because of the retailer's drive to take a lead in sustainability and make a difference for future generations.

The Eagles -- Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit -- recently concluded their "Farewell I" worldwide concert tour, one of the top grossing tours in history, Wal-Mart said.
