Dish Network (DISH) is today debuting new technology that will allow its Pay TV customers using either Hopper or Wally receivers to search for programs, change channels, pause, rewind and fast-forward television through Amazon.com (AMZN) Alexa Devices, TechCrunch reports.
The technology is being made available by way of a new Alexa Skill, a voice-controlled application for Amazon Echo, Echo Dot or Amazon Tap connected speakers. Dish customers will then have to pair the Alexa app with their television devices.
This marks the first time that a TV provider has offered its own Alexa integration.
Shares of Dish were slights higher during afternoon trading on Monday.
