Eurosport, a television sports network owned and operated by Discovery Communications (DISCA) - Get Report , and Snap Inc. (SNAP) - Get Report on Wednesday reached a strategic partnership agreement that will allow Snapchatters across Europe the ability to view content from the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang 2018.
The partnership marks the first time Snap has committed to a European, multi-language deal for covering the Olympics. The content will include behind-the-scenes video from the Olympic events, including snowboarding, downhill and freestyle skiing and ice hockey.
The agreement is meant to connect Snap's younger audience with Olympic content "through a fresh, mobile-first look."
"We are thrilled to bring the excitement and passion of the Olympic Games directly to Snap's dynamic and engaged younger audience, allowing Discovery to deliver on its promise to bring the Games to more people across more screens in Europe than ever before" said Michael Lang, President, International Development & Digital for Discovery International.
Shares of Discovery Communications were higher over 1%, while shares of Snap were falling over 2% in mid-morning trading on Wednesday.
