DirecTV Hits 52-Week High

DirecTV share price climbs on news that it will offer its NFL package to customers without satellite dishes.

) -- Shares of

DirecTV

(DTV)

hit a 52-week high of $40.14 today as investors gear up for the 2010 NFL season.

DirecTV recently announced plans to offer its NFL package to non-subscribers starting on Sept. 12. The "NFL Sunday Ticket" package will cost $350 and is only for customers who don't have satellite dishes or are unable to get satellite reception.

The increased number of potential subscribers is good news to investors boosting the share price to a new high.

The New Orleans Saints will host the Minnesota Vikings tonight at 8:30 p.m. in the NFL season opener.
