Diamond Foods (DMND) named Andrew Burke vice president of marketing, effective June 19.

Burke was vice president of marketing at Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery in Modesto, Calif. Earlier, he spent seven years at

Kraft Foods

( KFT), where he guided strategic marketing for brands including Jell-O, Altoids and LifeSavers.

"Andrew joins Diamond with a track record for success in consumer packaged-goods marketing with a focus on brand and product development," said CEO Michael J. Mendes. "We are pleased to have him at the head of our marketing team and leading the marketing effort for Diamond."

Burke received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and an MBA in finance and marketing from Fordham University.
