Delta Air Lines
said system traffic fell 4.5% from a year ago in January, as capacity fell 6.8%.
The Atlanta-based carrier, operating under Chapter 11 protection, said Delta's system load factor was 73.4%, up 1.7 points from the same period last year and a record for the month.
Domestic traffic fell 7.3% and capacity dropped 10.8%. Domestic load factor in January 2006 was 73.3%, up 2.7 points. International traffic rose 4.9% on a 7.6% rise in capacity. International load factor was 73.6%, down 1.9 points.
