NEW YORK (
) -- With a few more solar-sector earnings releases on tap this week -- and on a day that's leaving most of the market battered -- solar stocks were plunging Monday.
The leading decliner was
Ascent Solar Technologies
, whose shares had fallen 18%, or $1.23, to $5.60, in midday trading Monday.
Companies set to report quarterly results Monday and Tuesday include China-based
( SOLF). Shares of Trina, which reports later today, fell 7.1%, or $2, to $26.31. Solarfun, which reports Tuesday morning, lost 6%, or 40 cents, to $6.30.
Yingli Green Energy
, which had dropped 3.9% in the afternoon, is scheduled to report on Wednesday.
, which shows off its second-quarter results on Thursday, was down 6.1%.
each posted losses for their respective second quarters. Monday afternoon, American Depositary Shares of JA Solar and ReneSola lost 7.4% and 5.8% each, while shares for LDK Solar gave up 3.3%.
