Cramer's 'Stop Trading!': Cheer Up, Obama
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- President Obama "should have been more positive" when he addressed Wall Street earlier today, said Jim Cramer on Monday's "Stop Trading!" segment on CNBC. "He was too downbeat."
Cramer offered a few examples of positive points the president could have touched on. He said that Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is "doing a good job" and
Fed
Chair Ben Bernanke is "doing a great job." Also, Cramer said, there are things to cheer about in the U.S. compared with the rest of the world. For example, "we're well ahead of Europe."
Looking back over the year that's passed since the collapse of
Lehman Brothers
, Cramer said that "the real takeaway year over year is that our banking system did not collapse." The system, he said, turned out to be stronger than many had expected.
Americans "want revenge against the people who took the jobs away," Cramer said, "but they also want success."
