said March same-store sales for its Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurants fell 2.1% from a year ago, while same-store sales in gift shops dropped 12.9%.
The Lebanon, Tenn., company blamed this year's later Easter. The company estimated that Cracker Barrel's comps were hurt to the tune of about 1 to 1.5 percentage points in restaurant sales and 5 to 6 points in retail sales.
The company, which operates 537 Cracker Barrel restaurants and gift shops, said on March 17 that it would divest its Logan's Roadhouse subsidiary, whose sales the company said it has ceased reporting.
