Corrections Corporation of America (CXW) agreed to temporarily house Colorado male inmates at its 1,440-bed North Fork Correctional Facility in Sayre, Okla.

Under the agreement, which is effective through Dec. 20, the company will house 240 Colorado inmates at the North Fork facility, while the state of Colorado and the company finalize an intergovernmental service agreement between Bent County, Colo., and the state of Colorado.

Corrections said it expects the agreement to provide the state of Colorado the ability to house up to 720 Colorado inmates at the North Fork facility. The North Fork Correctional Facility currently houses 550 inmates from Wyoming and Vermont.
