) -- Consumer sentiment inched higher in December, in-line with economists' expectations.
The Reuters/University of Michigan final gauge of consumer sentiment hit a six-month high of 74.5 during the month from 74.1 in November. Nonetheless, this reading still remains below pre-recession levels of more than 80.
