Comcast (CMCSA) - Get Report said today that it is launching a wireless service called Xfinity Mobile which boasts an unlimited data plan.

Xfinity Mobile will launch on Verizon's (VZ) - Get Report network, however the roll out will be initially available only to subscribers of Xfinity broadband and in larger markets.

The move makes Comcast the first major U.S. cable provider to enter the wireless market.

Unlimited data, talk, and text will be available by mid-year for $65 per line for up to five lines, or $45 per line for consumers with Comcast's top X1 packages. Customers can also choose to pay $12 per gigabyte each month.
