James Meer has taken on the role of
new senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, the company said Thursday.
Meer succeeds David Weinberg, who has been with the company since its inception and has decided to leave to pursue other opportunities. In his new position, Meer will manage Columbia's financial, accounting and investor relations divisions.
Prior to joining the pharmaceutical company, Meer acted as the senior vice president, CFO, secretary and treasurer to biotech company
Columbia was down 11 cents, or 2.5%, to $4.29 in afternoon trading.
