Coca-Cola Co. (KO) - Get Coca-Cola Company Report and Pepsico Inc. (PEP) - Get PepsiCo, Inc. Report have agreed, with five other drink manufacturers, to limit the amount of sugar they put in drinks sold in Singapore as the city-state attempts to fight a growing diabetes epidemic. 

The group of companies has agreed to remove all drinks from their portfolio that contain more than 12% sugar by 2020. 

"In addition to this industry commitment, Coca-Cola Singapore is making an additional commitment to reduce the sugar content in our portfolio of sugar-sweetened beverages by 10 percent by 2020," Coca-Cola said in an email to Reuters.
