Twitter users were questioning the availability of Citibank site Friday, including Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales who tweeted "Citibank's website is down. Judging from twitter this has been going on for awhile. Big news story?" A Citibank Twitter account responded " No news story. You should see it up and running now. Let me know if you're still having issues in accessing the site. Thx!"

"On Friday morning, Citi's consumer website experienced a temporary interruption in service. Our online team worked immediately to address the issue, and operations were restored within one hour," a Citigroup spokesperson said in an email statement. "We are continuing to monitor the system to ensure continuity of services. At no point were there data integrity issues or compromise of client account information. We apologize for any inconvenience."
