CBS's (CBS) - Get Report "The Big Bang Theory" will air on the network for at least two more seasons, as the company reached a deal that extends the show through season 12. 'Big Bang Theory' first aired in 2007 and is consistently one of the network's two most popular shows when new episodes air.
Recently, the show's core cast, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar, all signed two year contract extensions. Deals are said to be in the works with actresses Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik, the Associated Press reports. Their contracts end at the conclusion of the current season.
Next year CBS will air a "Big Bang Theory" prequel show called "Young Sheldon," which will be narrated by Jim Parsons as he chronicles his character's early life as a child genius.
