, the world's biggest soup maker, said fiscal third-quarter earnings rose about 11% as sales increased slightly.
Campbell Soup earned $187 million, or 57 cents a share, up from $168 million, or 49 cents a share, a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn 52 cents a share.
Sales rose to $1.81 billion from $1.80 billion a year earlier.
The company said it expects to be at the high end of its fiscal 2011 guidance of a 1% to 3% decline in per-share earnings.
