A filing by Warren Buffett's
fills out the details of his interest in beer maker
Berkshire said in a
Securities and Exchange Commission
form 13F that it controls 44.7 million shares of the Budweiser brewer, or about 5.8% of the shares outstanding. Anheuser-Busch previously disclosed that Berkshire had become a "major shareholder" of the company, but didn't elaborate.
The filing, which covers holdings at Sept. 30, 2005, values the stake at $1.92 billion. Anheuser's shares are down 12.4% since the start of 2005 and 13.7% since the start of 2004.
The same 13F shows Berkshire controls roughly 20 million shares of
, worth $873 million. The stake is less than 1% of Wal-Mart's outstanding shares.
Wal-Mart shares are down 5.2% since the start of 2005 and 3.3% since the start of 2004.
