The billionaire's holding conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) - Get Report increased its stake in the iPhone maker's stock by roughly 3% to about 134 million shares in the third quarter, according to SEC filings.
Shares of Apple and IBM were moving lower in extended-hours trading on Tuesday.
As of the end of June this year, Berkshire owned 130.2 million shares of Apple. Those shares equate to roughly a 2.5% stake in Apple, whose current market cap stands at $890 billion.
Berkshire acquired its first stake in Apple in May 2016. At the time, the conglomerate said that it purchased 9.8 million shares during the first quarter at an average price of about $109 a share.
Last week, Apple eclipsed a record high on the heels of stronger-than-expected fourth-quarter financial results. Shares of the tech titan have climbed over 47% year-to-date.
