Boeing (BA) - Get Report got a $1.07 billion Air Force satellite contract.

The Chicago-based plane maker said the deal covers up to three more Wideband Gapfiller Satellites, if all options are exercised.

The Block II satellites will be similar to the three Block I satellites already in production, Boeing explained.

Under Block II, Boeing noted, the company will add a radio frequency bypass capability. That will allow the satellites to support airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms requiring ultra-high bandwidth and data rates demanded by unmanned aerial vehicles.
