Bank of America (BAC) will lay off an unspecified amount of technology workers in its headquartered city of Charlotte and other locations, following previous job cuts announced earlier this year, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Impacted employees, who worked in the bank's global technology and operations unit, were notified of the job cuts on Tuesday.

Today's cuts reflect the "continued evolution of our business model," a Bank of America spokesman said.

The cuts follow layoffs in June which also reduced the number of tech workers in Charlotte.

Shares of Bank of America were higher in afternoon trading on Tuesday.
