Avocent Integrates LanDesk

, a maker of analog and digital switching systems, said Thursday that its mobile solutions division became a part of its LANDesk Software division.

Avocent's two groups of LANDesk and the mobile solutions division said that they successfully completed the integration of Avocent's mobile device management software called SonicSentinal into LANDesk's systems management and security management solutions.

"LANDesk and the Avocent Mobile Solutions Division offer products that have a very high level of synergy," the Huntsville, Ala.-based company said. "The combination of these two vibrant businesses and the integration of their products is another example of the type of increased business value Avocent can deliver. Customers can cut costs and align IT with strategic business objectives more closely through better management of mobile systems."

The integration will strengthen an IT organization's ability to centrally manage mobile devices by adding additional security and over-the-air device management capabilities.

Avocent's shares were trading up 2 cents at $30.72 Thursday.
