said its corporate cook was named chef of the year by the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the American Culinary Federation.

Mark Antony Prece won the award because he has demonstrated "the highest standard of culinary skills, advanced the cuisine of America and given back to the profession through the development of students and apprentices," the Kansas City, Mo.-based maker of Mueller's spaghetti said.

"Chef Mark is an integral part of the AIPC team," CEO Jim Fogarty said. "He uses his specialized expertise to create delicious recipes, help develop new products and to train our food service sales associates to prepare perfect pasta.

"We greatly value his unique skill set," Fogarty added, "and salute him on this well-earned achievement."
