American Eagle Seeks Big Board Status

The apparel retailer files to trade on the NYSE.

New York Stock Exchange

The Warrendale, Pa.-based apparel company said Tuesday that, subject to NYSE approval, it will begin trading on the Big Board under the symbol AEO on March 8.

"Our transfer to the New York Stock Exchange is an important milestone for our company and highlights the outstanding growth and profitability we have experienced over the past several years," CEO Jim O'Donnell said in a statement.

Shares were recently trading down 13 cents, or 0.4%, to $32.21.
