
Amazon Quietly Acquired GameSparks for $10 Million to Increase Gaming Capabilities

Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) - Get Amazon.com, Inc. Report quietly purchased GameSparks, a backend as a service platform for game developers, for $10 million, Tech Crunch reported Friday, as the company looks to build out its gaming capabilities.
Tech Crunch spoke with two GameSparks investors who said they could not comment on the company due to non-disclosure agreements they signed.
The small company, which has raised only $820,000 from a small group of investors, is co-headquartered in Dublin and York in the U.K.
