Alliant Energy (LNT) - Get Free Report named its CEO, Bill Harvey, to an added chairman post.

The Madison, Wis., company said Harvey succeeds Erroll B. Davis Jr., who retired to become chancellor of the University System of Georgia.

"It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to serve as the Chairman of the Alliant Energy Board," said Harvey. "As the chairman, president and CEO, I am committed to delivering superior value to the customers of Alliant Energy's utility companies, as well as delivering increasing returns to our shareowners."

Harvey was also named chairman of Alliant Energy's first tier subsidiaries, Interstate Power and Light Company, Wisconsin Power and Light Company and Alliant Energy Resources.

"The board of directors has tremendous confidence in Bill's ability to serve as the chairman of the board," said Anthony R. Weiler, lead independent director and chairman of the board's nominating and governance committee. "Bill's extensive knowledge of utility operations, leadership abilities, and no-nonsense approach to decision-making will make him an excellent chairman."
