Alaska Air Group's
said Thursday that it has successfully completed the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and has been entered into the IOSA registry.
The IOSA has established a set of universally accepted safety audit standards and preparing for or completing the IOSA registration is a condition of membership in the IATA, which represents more than 95% of all international airline passenger traffic.
"By completing the audit, Alaska has further demonstrated to the industry and to our customers that our operational safety and quality processes are consistent with those of the world's leading airlines," said the company.
Alaska's stock closed at $37.70, down $1.24, or 3.18%, Thursday.
