AK Steel Holding
said Monday that it will add a $290-a-ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped next month.
The steelmaker said the surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the August purchase cost used to determine the October surcharges.
The Middletown, Ohio-based company's stock was trading at $12.32, down 60 cents, or 4.64% Monday.
