closed out a record year with a fourth-quarter profit.

Excluding items, the carrier earned $10.1 million, or 7 cents a share. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters had estimated 3 cents. Revenue rose 1.5% to $598.4 million; analysts estimated $585 million.

With items, net income was $17.1 million, or 11 cents a share.

During the quarter, passenger revenue per available seat mile fell 10.3% to 9.26 cents. Adjusted cost per available seat mile, excluding fuel, rose 0.6% to 6.50 cents.

For the full year, excluding items, net income was $93.6 million, or 67 cents a share. With items, the carrier earned a record $124.7 million, representing a $400 million improvement over 2009. Full-year net income was 95 cents a share.
