If you still haven't given any thought to your holiday shopping this year, you may be off to a late start.

About one in seven American adults (14%, or about 32 million adults) began their holiday shopping by Labor Day weekend, according to a survey by CreditCards.com, and nearly one in four shoppers believe that they will finish this task by the end of November.

These shoppers have the advantage over 55% of American adults who won't finish their holiday shopping until sometime in December. With an early start, holiday shoppers have better access to this year's most popular toys.

Toy review site TTPM has announced its 2015 Most Wanted List, an independently tested and curated list of the most in-demand toys and kids lifestyle products. This year, according to TTPM editors, technology is being integrated into toys in such a way that it enhances classic play and engages new audiences.

"Whether tech or traditional, play continues to serve three basic functions for kids: it provides new experiences, allows kids to explore their worlds and provides a platform for self-expression," says Chris Byrne, EVP and content director for TTPM.

As a result, some of the most popular toys reflect the idea that children who have grown up in a technology-heavy world "are discovering novelty and excitement in toys and products that provide exciting off-screen play experiences," adds TTPM CEO and editor-in-chief Jim Silver.

This year, there are a number of toys that fit this description. Toys associated with Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, for example, have been a hit since their release earlier this month. The film itself doesn't hit theaters until later this year, so these toys are expected to remain popular through the holidays.
