NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Free food. Beer carts. Free transportation. Childcare. Is this the best night out you've ever had? Nope. These are just a few of the perks that many well-known tech companies provide for their workers.

Feeling jealous? Well, here's more: Some tech companies offer on-site dry cleaning or, in the case of LinkedIn (LNKD) , allow employees to take a day off to volunteer or to "explore new ideas." Add in plenty of paid time off for maternity and paternity leave and it's amazing that employees ever go home (or want to switch jobs, except to go to a place with even better perks).

Before you tell your boss sayonara and head to Silicon Valley, know that in exchange for these perks, these employers expect the very most from their staff. Employees work long hours in extremely fast-paced environments and are expected to produce. It's not for everyone.

So which tech company truly has the best benefits and perks?

Glassdoor, a jobs and recruiting platform, compiled a Tech Company Benefits Comparison report. The report, released on Tuesday, looked at a sample of 18 major tech companies and how they compare in terms of benefits and perks, according to employee feedback.

Companies were rated based on at least 20 shared benefits reviews as of April 23. The maximum rating a company could receive was a 5 -- meaning very satisfied.

Check out which company truly has the best perks for employees. Note: There were many ties on this list, which were reflected in the numbering.
