The premier of 'Star Trek: Discovery' drove a record amount of subscribers to sign-up for the CBS OTT service, CBS All Access.
Sunday night's premiere of "Star Trek: Discovery" on CBS All Access, the over-the-top subscription streaming video service owned by CBS (CBS) - Get Report , spurred a record number of single-day sign-ups for the digital streaming service, Deadline Hollywood reports.
The show's premier drove more subscription additions than the previous record event, February's 2017 GRAMMY Awards, although specific figures were not readily available, the report noted.
All new episodes of "Star Trek: Discovery" will be available on demand weekly after 8:30 PM ET on Sundays exclusively for CBS All Access U.S. subscribers.
Shares of CBS opened higher nearly 1% on Monday.
