In Washington, shots were fired on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol outside of the Rayburn building Wednesday morning, Metro DC police confirmed to the Washington Post.
The incident began at 9:30 a.m. when police received calls about shots being fired.
According to police, someone attempted to ram a U.S. Capitol Police cruiser with a vehicle, which led to officers pursing the person on foot.
By 9:45 a.m., the suspect was apprehended by police and taken into custody. Police have yet to confirm who fired the shots.
