Enterprise software company Salesforce  (CRM - Get Report) announced Wednesday it would acquire privately held ClickSoftware in a stock-and-cash deal worth $1.35 billion.

ClickSoftware, which operates in Massachusetts and Israel, is a workforce management software company.

"Our acquisition of ClickSoftware will not only accelerate the growth of Service Cloud, but drive further innovation with Field Service Lightning to better meet the needs of our customers," said Bill Patterson, executive vice president and general manager of Salesforce's Service Cloud.

The move comes less than a week after Salesforce completed its acquisition of data-visualization software company Tableau for $15.7 billion.

The acquisition of ClickSoftware is expected to close during Salesforce's fiscal quarter ending Oct. 31.
