Cloud stocks rose Thursday.

Among notable small- and medium-cap cloud stocks watched by TheStreet, 16 rose while two fell.

Paylocity shares (PCTY) rose $6.72, or 6.95%, to $103.40.

Virtusa shares (VRTU) fell $11.19, or 20.65%, to $43.01. The company reported disappointing revenue and earnings numbers for its latest quarter late Wednesday.

The Global X Cloud Computing ETF (CLOU) rose 43 cents, or 2.81%, to $15.74.

The First Trust Cloud Computing ETF (SKYY) rose 91 cents, or 1.55%, to $59.65.

Big-cap companies with significant cloud computing interests rose.

Cisco Systems shares (CSCO) rose $3.49, or 6.66%, to $55.93. The networking giant reported better-than-expected results for the latest quarter late Wednesday.

Intuit shares (INTU) rose $4.41, or 1.81%, to $247.55.
