Tech and oil service. Those are the ones flying today,

Core Labs

(CLB) - Get Report

and

FMC

(FTI) - Get Report

, the two that I have been singing praises of for so long that I was beginning to think people were sick of them.

Well, readers may be sick of them, listeners may be sick of them and viewers may be sick of them. But the big drilling companies sure aren't.

I continue to like this group and continue to believe that as it languishes you will get more deals like

Veritas DGC

( VTS)

even as the stock had doubled

.

I urge you to take another look at

Halliburton

(HAL) - Get Report

after the spinoff's date has been set. Those who downgraded this stock on Kellogg Brown & Root should remember that it is a pure drilling play that makes for an ability to get vertically integrated, if not by itself than into others.

I have already told you that I think that

Nabors

(NBR) - Get Report

is on the block, with its chairman retiring. I think that everything is for sale in the patch, save

Schlumberger

(SLB) - Get Report

.

Even Core and FMC. Even up here.

I know that this group is dreadfully out of favor and trades with every tick down in oil and nat gas.

But that's not right from rig rates. And it certainly isn't right from the point of view of acquisitions.
