Shares of Netflix Inc. (NFLX) - Get Report climbed 4.51% to $311 on Monday after the streaming service won a total of five Golden Globe awards on Sunday. 

The company's "The Kominsky Method" won two Golden Globes for best performance by an actor in a television series - musical; and best television series - musical or comedy; while the Mexican film "Roma" won for best director of a motion picture, and best motion picture in a foreign language. Richard Madden, of Netflix's "Bodyguard" series, won the prize for best actor in a TV drama.

The Golden Globe Awards are bestowed by members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to recognize excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign. 

Netflix will be losing some of its popular content. Walt Disney Co.  (DIS) - Get Report said that it plans to pull all of its content from Netflix this year to create its own streaming service called Disney+. In addition, Netflix reportedly agreed to pay $100 million to continue licensing the sitcom "Friends" from its owner, WarnerMedia, up from the $30 million a year that Netflix had paid previously to stream the show. WarnerMedia is also planning to launch its own streaming service this year.

Netflix is moving to cut costs by sidestepping Apple Inc.'s  (AAPL) - Get Report app store for its mobile services. Netflix will be able to keep all of the subscription revenue coming in and avoid the "Apple Tax" that would represent a 15% cut to users moving through the app store.

Netflix is scheduled to release fourth-quarter results fter the market closes on Jan. 17.
