President Trump reached across the aisle to engage Democrats on tax reform, sending Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and National Economic Director Gary Cohn to a private meeting with the Senate Finance Committee, Fox Business News reported Wednesday. 

Democrats communicated their demands for any tax reform bill which included a middle class tax cut and that the bill would not be part of any reconciliation package, Fox reported. 

Those two criteria are non-negotiable in any discussions Trump has with Democrats over tax reform, according to the report.
