OAK Brook, Ill. (
reported a 2.6% jump in global January same-store sales, although its sales in the U.S. were weak.
McDonald's domestically comparable sales slipped 0.7%, but the fast-food chain saw strength in Europe and Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa, which were both up 4.3%.
Still, this slight decline in the U.S. surpasses sales at other quick-service restaurants, and shares of McDonald's inched up 0.8% to $63.43 in pre-market trading.
