Officials from Los Angeles and the International Olympic Committee have come to an agreement that will "pave the way" for Los Angeles to host the 2028 Olympics, the Los Angeles Times reports.
It will mark the third time Los Angeles has hosted the Olympics, previously in 1932 and 1984.
Terms of the agreement have not been made public.
Los Angeles captured the right to host the games over Paris who reportedly pushed hard for the right to host the 2024 Olympics.
This will be the first time the U.S. has hosted the Olympics since Salt Lake City in 2002.
