Liliane Bettencourt, the only child of L'Oreal SA (LRLCY) founder Eugene Schueller and the world's richest woman, has died at the age of 94.
Bettencourt died Wednesday at her home in a suburb of Paris, confirmed by L'Oreal CEO Jean-Paul Agon. The cause of her death was not given.
Bettencourt, who owned one-third of the French cosmetics giant, was the world's richest woman with an estimated net worth of $42.5 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
