Dow Jones Industrial Average to a higher close. The soft drink giant ended the day up 3.23%.
Coke today announced it was comfortable with analysts' expectations for its third quarter earnings. In a statement, the beverage manufacturer said unit case volume trends in July and August "have continued to reflect improving economic conditions" in many markets.
Additionally, the cola manufacturer said it remains comfortable with its prediction of five to six percent unit case volume growth for the year and six to seven percent for next year. The current 17-analyst estimate calls for Coca-Cola to come in at 41 cents a share, up from the year-ago 31-cent result.
